CCHRB Membership
Chicago Committee on High Rise Buildings
CCHRB Mission:
"The purpose of the Committee is to investigate problems or enhancements, support research and disseminate information for economic design, construction, operation and rehabilitation of high-rise buildings."
How to Join CCHRB:
In order to join CCHRB as a new member, you must have credentials and potentials consistent with the mission of the organization.
Application Requirements:
- Letter of interest from the candidate
- Current CV of the applicant clearly indicating the contributions of the candidate to the field of high rise buildings
- A nomination letter from a current member of CCHRB (see below for list of current members)
- Letters of support from three additional current members of CCHRB
Application Process:
- Forward the entire package described above to the CCHRB Chair in a single PDF file
- CCHRB Executive Committee conducts an initial evaluation of the candidate's credentials, accomplishments and potentials
- Nominations approved by the Executive Committee will be forwarded to the full CCHRB for a final vote on the candidate's membership
- CCHRB Secretary informs approved new members of the CCHRB decision and sends them a copy of the CCHRB Constitution and Bylaws along with a letter to accept membership in CCHRB according to the conditions and responsibilities articulated in the CCHRB Constitution and Bylaws.
- Once the signed acceptance letter is received by the Secretary, CCHRB Treasurer sends the new member an invoice for the their annual membership dues ($600 per year at this time - - prorated if necessary)
- Membership is complete upon receipt of the annual membership dues
- This process takes at least three months from the time completed application package is received by the CCHRB Chair
Responsibilities of CCHRB Members:
- Regularly attend monthly meetings of the committee. If unable to attend, the member must send an alternate to the meeting. CCHRB meetings are open only to current members or their alternates and guests
- Members must login to the CCHRB web site and RSVP for themselves, guests and/or alternates prior to every CCHRB meeting
- Contribute to the objectives of the Committee by active participation in CCHRB task forces, giving presentations, help organize CCHRB activities, etc.
